The ultimate test was for my curries. You can see the consistency isn’t completely solid, and there is definitively some loose liquids. I did a test and it passed! With a caveat that I’m not planning to take this lunch box cross country skiing with it upside down bouncing in my bag — I think it will cover 90% of your needs.

This Bento box is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The box is sturdy (re: has weight to it). I didn’t purchase for foods that are runny so it works well for my purposes. The locking caps are pretty tight in a good way but I think would be difficult to open for a small child or elderly person. I would buy again.

I hate eating big lunches at work so this is perfect for food you don’t need to heat up. I put a side salad in one side and cheese, crackers, chocolate, fruit, carrots and pb, etc in the other :) the little sauce container is NOT LEAK PROOF. I tried to put milk and cookies in this and the milk did not stay contained. Salad dressing & pb have been fine though lol. I get lots of compliments on this box

We haven’t had it for long so I’ll update if there are ever changes but so far we love this little box! I was looking for more ways to be plastic-free and still make taking lunch to work easy for my husband. This was perfect. We loved the stackable quality rather than having segments in one box. This allows less leaking between ingredients (which is a big no-go for me.) I give it only a 4-star on leak proof simply because I don’t want people thinking soups or liquids like that aren’t going to leak. We have had no leaking issues but I don’t think that would be the case with anything really fluid. We put salad dressings and oils in a little separate glass jar if he needs it. It also still fits nicely in his lunch bag if he needs to have ice. It fits the right amount of food without having to cut up every thing to make it fit. That was a problem we have had with other options. I also appreciate that it has the clasps to make it more secure. I don’t have to worry about the lid being popped off inside his bag. I think I will eventually order myself one of these too.

Great Lunchbox – coming back to write this review after 2 years of use. I purchased this lunchbox in 2018 in an effort to start food prepping before going to work, etc. I wanted something durable, but also that held a lot of food. I love the 2 compartments which I always fill up. I was hesitant to read the reviews at the time because many said that it rusted right away or broke. Neither of which happened to me. I still use it to this day – the only thing I would say now from almost 2 years of wear is that one of the clasps comes undone occasionally but I tend to keep the box upright so it still doesn’t open up/spill. I would say definitely don’t put liquid in here – obviously, this container isn’t made for soup, which I’ve never done, but even oil, thinner dressing, or a bit of water from cooked foods can leak out if you’re not careful. It’s not airtight, but it does the job. I love this thing so much despite these minor setbacks. Definitely worth it and will be purchasing it again once this one eventually wears out.

I always make lunches for my husband to take to work with him, and I used to put them in plastic food containers. Now that I am trying to be more sustainable and learning more and more about how bad plastic actually is and that it leeches in our food and all that, I was looking for an alternative and saw this lunch box on someone’s blog, so I ordered it lol

It is beautiful and just as described in the pictures, very minimalistic and looks really expensive. My husband loves it because it has different compartments and looks really sleek, not like the pink boxes I personally love :D It fits the perfect amount of food for a lunch break, and you can pack like dressing and stuff in the little extra container and put it in there so the salad or food dont get too soggy through the day. It is not good for soups and stuff (which it states in the description) because it isnt 100% leak proof, but I usually pack rice and veggies with some kind of thicker sauce and it works fine with that. Would definitely recommend

Buy two because you’ll love them! Great for new moms! I purchased this over three years ago for my toddler and it’s still going strong! We love this bento box and receive compliments all the time. Super easy to clean, and easy to carry. We usually bring this on our day hikes. We do not put liquids in the box, usually snacks, pasta, salad or sandwiches, fruit, and nuts. The box has never presented any rust either! This is also a great gift for mothers and fathers of young children.

Just bought a second one!

I loved the first one so much that I bought a 2nd one for my hubby. They’re sturdy, and I really love that they’re not plastic. The little container with the lid is not water tight, but they are pretty clear about that in the description. It is a good dish for thick stiff though, like hummus or greek yogurt, or pasta salads, etc. Just don’t put thin liquids in it and expect it not to leak.

Overall these are a good value, well made product that I can see getting a lot of use out of. (At this time I’ve already been using them regularly for about 8 months, and they’re as nice as the day I got them)

Great product. I bought mine almost 2 years ago, for my son, and it is still in perfect condition. Do not leave it to air dry when it is wet. Gently wash it by hand (it doesn’t take much) and then quickly towel dry it. If water sits on it, it will begin to rust in the cracks. The latches can be bent by hand to ensure a proper fit. This has been a great lunch box and I will be buying a 2nd one for my daughter when she starts school nest Fall. For the young ones I take out the smallest container so it doesn’t get lost n the trash, etc. These are a great price compared to many other stainless boxes as well! A wonderful product! Thank you!

Durable and easy to clean.

I had a slight issue with leakage because I was a bit over ambitious with what I was packing in it a few times.

If you follow the advice on the packaging you should be alright.

I like the two layers and it fits well in my backpack.

I really like the smaller container on the inside. This has a very good seal, I will

Use it to pack hummus or some other type of a dip for sliced veggies.

I particularly like that it is sturdy and plastic free!

I’ve been trying to bring my lunches to work more often in reusable containers, but the plastic bento boxes weren’t working for me because they would either break after a month or I’d forget about them in the backseat of my car and then be too grossed out to even want to look inside—pretty much straight to the trash, just like the one-time use plastic containers from grocery store salads.

I’ve only had this bento box for the past week, but I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect size for my lunches, it’s good enough quality that I feel the need to take care of it, and it’s super cute. Really a wonderful product. I’ll probably buy another one for myself for the weekly lunch rotation, as well as one for my fiancé since he also loves it.

First of all, I can say that I recommend this stainless steel bento box. We use it for our elementary-aged kids and they find it easy to use and we find it easy to clean.

In no way would I call this leak-proof. The sellers are quite clear about that. With no rubber seal, it’s meant for sandwiches, vegetables, fruits, crackers, etc. As they state, you might be able to get away with something thick like yogurt or hummus but if you buy this to carry your soup to work, you’re gonna have a bad time!

Still, it’s great for our use and the sellers are second to none. Our pods had a manufacturing defect and the sellers went above and beyond to not only credit us but also replace the failed parts. Certainly a shining example of customer service and we’d be happy to buy from them again in the future.

So far I am completely happy. I have used it as a lunch box for my toddler’s lunches and packed all his goodies… with ease. I am on top of its maintenance. I don’t just wash it but also dry it (keeping in mind some of the reviews I read that claimed the product rusted) but the makers provided cards on how to care for the product, they also include information on their lifetime warranty… I like that if something was to happen to my purchase I have the ability to contact them for a replacement. However I haven’t had any issues with it.

I can see that going from hot to cold foods can make the material expand and could cause problems in the future. But latches work just fine. The little container is cute and useful and it was the first thing I used. I want to point out that in the product cards that it comes with say that its not spill proof (with liquids) all other foods stay put just fine. I said it once and ill say it again… so far I am 100% happy with this bento box.

I could not be happier with this purchase. The product itself is amazing quality and worth the price since it lasts so long and comes with a lifetime warranty. Additionally, I couldn’t be happier supporting this company. After using the product and interacting with customer service, I feel confident in picking this company for my eco-friendly lunchbox needs. They are quick and friendly with responses, and helped me immediately with my issue. So, on a customer service assesment alone, this company receives full marks. The lunchbox will last years (which fulfills any desire to live more sustainably and conciously, opposed to opting for single or limitted-use products) and fits easilly in my purse, backpack, tote, etc. It’s durable, yet not too heavy and has no signs of wear after multiple uses and washes. It holds quite a bit of food. Overall, I’m glad to support a company promoting low-waste, low-impact, and eco-concious and friendly living while getting a truly superb product out of it.

Perfect for what I wanted. And exactly what I expected. I try my best get away from plastics for environmental reasons, and I am raising my kids to do the same. This luch box was for my son and he understood why we were not going to get a plastic lunch box that had characters on it. So if you are trying to ride that boat yourself this is a great product.

It is well made and compartments are practical for different food storage.

My son is 5 and is able to assemble and disassemble lunch box on his own. I have not one complaint about this product.

I did not leave a review on the leak proof feature because this lunch box is made of no plastic material so a leak proof seal is unrealistic and was never the intention or expectation of this product. The little container that is provided holds hummus great but I wouldn’t put soup in it. Lol

If you want a durable, eco-conscious lunch box, look no further! We have purchased 2 of these – one for our oldest child and a 2nd for our middle child – and are ready to purchase a 3rd for our youngest. No, they’re not leakproof, but we generally don’t send liquid foods to school with our kids and would happily purchase some type of thermos if we wanted to send a soup or other food that needed a seal with them. Aside from some scratches due to use, these containers have held up and show no signs of wearing out any time soon. There is no sign of rust and the containers have held up to our now 7-year-old for almost 2 years and are holding up for our 5-year-old. They hold a decent amount of food and we will likely purchase ones for my husband and me when what we currently have worn out. Definitely worth every penny!

I pack my lunches every day. I have been using plastic Tupperware-like containers for years. I am also frustrated by using plastics so much as there are a lot of studies linking leached chemicals from plastics into our food. So, I LOVE the Bento boxes – environmental reasons no plastic, cleanliness super easy to clean and if I forget to clean them for a day, or two, there is no worry about some lingering aroma of rottenness because they are metal and they clean right up, stackability is great! I packed a bean burger the other day, put the frozen burger in the bottom with the metal little oval box filled w BBQ sauce, mustard and pickles, and then in the upper box I put a brioche bun and some slices of Cheddar cheese. Everything was all separated so it did not get gooey. I might get some for holiday presents for all the lunch packers I know!

The ultimate test was for my curries. You can see the consistency isn’t completely solid, and there is definitively some loose liquids. I did a test and it passed!
